A win for workers

Worker’s Day on 1 May is more than just a public holiday – it’s a powerful reminder of the vital role employees play in driving progress and innovation.

Worker’s Day honours the contributions of workers around the globe. Its roots trace back to the late 19th century during the labour union movement in the United States. Following a major strike in Chicago’s Haymarket Square in 1886 which advocated for an eight-hour workday, the labour movement gained international momentum.
