The AfroCentric Chairman’s Annual Bursary Luncheon was hosted at Prof. Anna Mokgokong’s residence in Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria in November to celebrate academic milestones and reinforce our commitment to education and transformation.
Prof. Mokgokong opened with an inspiring message, saying: “AfroCentric goes beyond financial support; we invest in dreams and the leaders of tomorrow.”
CEO Gerald Van Wyk echoed this, urging students to dream big: “Don’t just be in the building; aspire to own the building.”
Five final-year Nursing students from North-West University shared heartfelt gratitude for the bursary support and wellness coaching that helped them succeed. Leaders, including Mrs Lindiwe Miyambu and Dr Nkateko Munisi, reflected on how education transforms lives and communities.
Through the AfroCentric Bursary Programme, launched in 2016 under Prof. Mokgokong’s leadership, we continue to address South Africa’s healthcare skills shortage and advance socio-economic transformation.
