Bringing hope to orphaned children

Our colleagues at AfroCentric Health’s Pretoria office spent their 67 minutes in tribute of former President Nelson Mandela at an orphanage in Thembisa, Johannesburg.

The team contributed money and groceries as well as second-hand clothing they had collected to the Siyazigabisa home.

“We spent the day with the kids and served food for our 67minutes. The orphanage, which is home to 28 children, includes four infants, youngsters above the age of four years and four blind children,” said Dineo Matsoso, of the Pretoria office.

About Siyazigabisa

Siyazigabisa (meaning “we have pride” in Zulu) was established in 1997 in a rented back room and has grown through various corporate support to a 727mbuilding. Gabsile Khoza founded the home to protect especially young girls after she herself was the victim of abuse at age eight.

With a mission to bring hope to the hopeless, the home aims to raise the children in a loving atmosphere so that they can rebuild their lives and one day take their place in society with pride.
