Cheers to Namibia

On 21 March, our colleagues in Namibia celebrated Namibian Independence Day, paying homage to their beautiful country with its unique natural beauty, rich traditions and vibrant cultures.

Namibia gained independence from South Africa on 21 March 1990, following the South African Border War. However, Walvis Bay and the Penguin Islands remained under South African control until 1994.

In celebration of Independence Day, we asked a few of our Namibian colleagues what they love most about being Namibian.

What I love most about Namibia is the beautiful natural attractions to explore, good quality braaivleis, and amazing roads and spaces to move around.

Namibia has always been home, and I cherish it deeply. I’ve travelled a few times outside the country, I’ve always found myself longing to return. There’s something truly special about this place.

Namibia is the land of space, respect, joy, and energy. Its vast, open landscapes and breathtaking beauty are unmatched, offering so much to explore and appreciate. From the dunes of the Namib Desert to the warmth and hospitality of its people, Namibia has so much to offer.

Living here is more than a blessing – it’s a privilege to call this remarkable country my home.
