The Medical Aid Migration Team has won the prestigious Fusion Award in the SLS CEO Awards in recognition of outstanding collaboration, innovation, and cross-functional excellence.
This accolade reflects the team’s remarkable achievement in leading a high-stakes migration project that required transitioning over 8 500 Sanlam Group employees, including 6 500 from SLS, from their existing medical aid to FedHealth, the Group’s new scheme partner.
With just two-and-a-half months to execute the change ahead of the December medical aid deadline, the team demonstrated unwavering focus and agility. Approximately 25 members met daily at 8am to align on plans, tackle challenges, assign responsibilities and track progress. Their success was powered by honest, robust collaboration across product, distribution, human capital, advisory and digital teams.
Together, they communicated with clarity, took ownership, and engaged directly with employees, empowering them to make informed, active choices about their medical aid.
This project stands as a shining example of what is possible when a shared vision is paired with purpose-driven teamwork.
