Living our values
Here’s a shout out to our colleagues across the AfroCentric business who embody our values of innovation, integrity, collaboration and care as they uplift and support their colleagues.
Puleng Qhamakoane, Senior Specialist: Talent Management
Hats off to Puleng, who has made a significant impact in the Talent, Leadership & Culture team. She transformed the look and feel of the AfroCentric onboarding experience, and revamped our Talent Acquisition and Assessment processes to align them with Sanlam’s policies and practices.
Puleng also designed the AfroCentric Talent Mobility and Deployment Framework, and led our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) project, a first for AfroCentric. Recently, she was nominated for the prestigious Sanlam Women in Leadership Programme, where she’ll be a professional coach and one of the leaders within AfroCentric or Sanlam Group.
Celeste Cyster, Team Leader: HIV Adherence Coordinator Department at AFA
Colleague Gerlynn Fitzgibbon says Celeste’s support and genuine care for her team have made a big difference as she consistently creates a positive environment, is always willing to help, and has the best interest of her staff members at heart, both professionally and personally. Celeste leads with heart and purpose, maintaining high ethical standards and providing guidance to her team in an approachable and genuine manner.
“I feel appreciated for the work I do as she sees my true potential and always reminds me of that. I feel more worthy after our talks and I feel treated as a person, not just staff member.”
Marisa Heath, Team Leader: Scriptpharm Networks
Team members Allistor Eiman, Nkosazana Skhosana and Donneve Green say Marisa has consistently demonstrated compassion, understanding and guidance in her leadership style. Combined with an open-door policy, her leadership has been instrumental in creating a pleasant working environment and has fostered a positive attitude within the team, allowing them to give their best every day to achieve their project goals.
“Her mentoring makes us feel motivated and empowered to grow and succeed. She is always supportive, makes time to listen to our concerns, provides solutions, is considerate of personal matters, and cares for our mental wellbeing.”
Siviwe Nyatela, Non-Clinical Reviewer: Fedhealth
Colleague Thandi Mokgotho says Siviwe is a phenomenal agent who embodies the spirit of Fedhealth, set apart by his depth of knowledge, willingness to learn, and generosity in sharing his knowledge.
“He brings more than just support – his warmth, smile and willingness to assist the floor has made the transition for the new agents smooth. He knows the product by heart.”
Martha Wilson, Speech Analytics Team: Medscheme
Martha used her learning journey during her OneMind site owners certification to educate the organisation on a new function. The launch of the first speech analytics page marked a major milestone, with Martha using feedback as a springboard to refine and improve the site’s impact. She redesigned the OneMind pages to be more interactive and engaging.
Her journey sparked a solution to a long-standing issue: storing team-specific documents. Her initiative brought new energy and strategic focus to the problem.
