Getting to the root of fraud
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) SA Health Forum is an independent body established in 2012 to represent the South African healthcare funding industry within the ACFE SA context.
Fighting fraud is a major goal of the entire South African medical aid industry. The ACFE plays an essential role in helping us to achieve this goal.
The scope of the forum is as follows:
- To encourage the sharing of fraud-related information within the healthcare funding environment
- Promote best practice and share experiences in applying healthcare forensic investigation standards
- To formalise and standardise training standards for healthcare forensic investigators
- To establish accreditation criteria for investigators within the South African context
- Aims to develop specialised training modules for healthcare forensic audits and investigations
- To interact with other ACFE SA Forums where relevant, especially pertaining to the sharing of information regarding criminal activities
- To increase awareness pertaining to healthcare fraud and abuse
- To identify and develop new opportunities to participate in combatting healthcare fraud in South Africa.
