A win for doctors and patients
Dr Eduard Delport, Advanced Specialist for Family Practitioner Strategy, within the Health Professionals Strategy Unit, has been awarded the HCP Excellence Award 2024 by the Alliance of the South African Independent Practitioners Association (ASAIPA).
ASAIPA recognised Dr Delport for his leadership, which resulted in the implementation of impactful solutions that have benefitted Family Practitioners as well as patients.
“Your well-deserved recognition through the presentation of the HCP Excellence Award is an honour bestowed upon you for your unwavering commitment and outstanding contributions to the advancement of the medical industry,” ASAIPA chair, Dr Unben Pillay, said in a statement.
Dr Wayne Riback, General Manager: Provider Relations and Health Professionals Strategy Unit (HSPU), said the award recognised Dr Delport’s knowledge, expertise, passion, and commitment in driving managed care in the Family Practitioner space with the patient at the centre, but also the respect and admiration that his peers in the clinical practice have for him and the value he brings both to health care providers as well as their patients, our scheme members.
“This is not something to be taken lightly – one does not often see accolades bestowed upon the funder/administrator industry or individuals there-in by clinicians so this is an exceptional award and recognition. On a personal note, I would like to thank Dr Delport and acknowledge all his hard work behind this accolade, on behalf of myself, HPSU and Medscheme as a whole for this exceptional achievement. Truly an asset,” Dr Riback said.
Dr Delport will be bestowed with the actual award at a ceremony at SAIPA’s upcoming Health Summit in June 2024.
