Igniting our business

Well done to the winners of our coveted Ignite Awards! You have inspired us with your passion, dedication and hard work as you live the values and purpose of the AfroCentric Group.

We introduced the Ignite Employee Recognition programme more than a year ago with the aim of inspiring all our employees, teams and leaders to be the best they can be, and to reward excellence.

The nominees are celebrated in three categories.

And the winners are . . .

The AfroCentric 2024 Ignite Awards gala event was held on 22 February at the Balalaika Hotel in Sandton, where we celebrated the winners.

The list of attendees included AfroCentric CEO Gerald van Wyk; Satish Antony, Executive Manager: Actuarial Consulting; David Carolus, CEO: Denis; Elnarie Hendricks, Interim Chief Executive Officer: ADS; Hannes Boonzaaier, CFO: Afrocentric Group; Monwabisi Kula, Chief Audit Executive; Tebogo Makoe, Executive Director: Human Capital and Transformation; Fezeka Nompumza, Managing Executive: Clinical Risk & Advisory; and Andrew Scwhulst, CEO: Medscheme.

“The culture of aiming for excellence at all costs, recognising and celebrating it, is the culture I’m aiming to entrench – an environment full of passionate people who show up every day to do and be the extraordinary.

“Congratulations to all the nominees and the winners who left the Ignite Awards evening with certificates, trophies and cheques. I’m truly proud of you for being a shining example that embodies what a true AfroCentric employee is,” Gerald said.
