We are proud of Michelle and the determination and spirit she showed along her weight-loss journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She entered the Finesse magazine \u201cNuwe Jy\u201d (\u201cnew you\u201d) challenge in February this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAfter 60 days of following a weight-loss and exercise journey, I had to submit before and after photos and motivate why I should be selected to receive the makeover of a lifetime,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/newmediacreative.co.za\/afrocentric\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/weight01-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2725\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmediacreative.co.za\/afrocentric\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/weight01-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/newmediacreative.co.za\/afrocentric\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/weight01-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/newmediacreative.co.za\/afrocentric\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/weight01-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/newmediacreative.co.za\/afrocentric\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/weight01.jpg 1396w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In April, Michelle was chosen as one of the top 10 contestants. \u201cWe received sponsorships from the Slender Wonder weight-loss programme, Pulse EMS exercise sessions, Placecol skincare, psychologist sessions, hair makeovers, colour personality analysis, and a brand-new smile from an I Love My Smile prosthodontist. The top six women were also featured in Finesse magazine,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI lost a total of 28kg \u2013 and tons of emotional baggage. The cherry on top was walking away as the winner of this year\u2019s programme at the finals on 17 September.
