Let\u2019s welcome some new additions to the team.<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We work together with business partners who are responsible for the successful creation and execution of communication for their client schemes.&nbsp;Our goal is to create amplified engagements for our customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Communications Enablement team is responsible for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Communication strategy and governance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Active participation in service design for strategic projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leading the creation of content across different channels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing specialised communication support for the managed care teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When creating content, we push for sending messages via mobile first and we craft new messages by following our design principles and editorial style guides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2022 we achieved the following with the support and dedication of our Communications Enablement Capability Forum:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stopped the receiving and drastically cut down the sending of system-triggered faxes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduced the number of system-triggered SMSes and post, saving \u00b1R7\u00a0million compared to previous years\u2019 costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completed the rebrand of all Medscheme system and template communications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completed the New Communications Solution Business requirements and the \u201cas-is\u201d and \u201cto-be&#8221; architecture. More recently we started work on the new Hospital Events Management (HEM) communications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continued sending monthly ICC eNewsletters for Bonitas, AECI and SAMWUMED to educate and inform our registered Chronic Medicine Management members on how to live and stay healthy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drove the activation of over 125 new AMP-specific messages and on-screen text for the Bonitas and Fedhealth mobile app<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Published our <a href=\"http:\/\/home.medscheme.com\/sites\/InfoCentral\/Capabilities\/Pages\/External%20Communications.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">external comms page<\/a> on One Mind, including our processes, procedures and editorial style guide<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Worked with the Knowledge and Learning Experiences Capability to create and publish module one of the Writing Fundamentals <a>course<\/a> on the AfroCentric Online Academy, which is piloted within the Bonitas business unit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year we welcome these new team members who\u2019ll add more impact to our space:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thandolwethu Gulwa (Communications Specialist)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"316\" height=\"454\" src=\"https:\/\/newmediacreative.co.za\/afrocentric\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Afrocentric05-02.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2904\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newmediacreative.co.za\/afrocentric\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Afrocentric05-02.png 316w, https:\/\/newmediacreative.co.za\/afrocentric\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Afrocentric05-02-209x300.png 209w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 316px) 100vw, 316px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thandolwethu joined the team on 1\u00a0February 2023 as a Communications Specialist. Budding and blooming in the City of Roses, Bloemfontein, she matriculated from the C&amp;N Sekond\u00eare Meisieskool Oranje before earning an Honours degree in Journalism and a German Studies qualification with a Goethe B1-level German competency certificate from Rhodes University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thandolwethu will be working with Martine Joubert on our monthly ICC eNewsletters and copy-editing to improve existing and newly crafted communication for our Medscheme clients. In 2021 she volunteered 50% of her time as a copywriter trainee and contributed to departmental projects and completed various training courses.&nbsp;Two years later, it\u2019s gratifying to see all her <a>hard work<\/a> paying off.
