AfroCentric places a high priority on creating a workplace that is fair and equal, which is why we have an empowered Employment Equity forum that was elected by you, our employees.<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of our Employment Equity (EE) forum is to represent employees in accordance with Employment Equity, to identify and eliminate all forms of discrimination, and to ensure that all employees are treated fairly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EE forum members you voted for represent various demographics, occupational levels, people with disabilities, business units and AfroCentric Group clusters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 12-14 July, in collaboration with the Department of Employment and Labour, we hosted EE workshops at our offices in Roodepoort, attended virtually by members from Durban and Vereeniging. On 20 and 21 July, we held EE workshops for appointed members in the Cape Town office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of the workshop was to educate forum members about the Employment Equity Act, provide them with more knowledge about AfroCentric’s transformation journey to date, and further address related issues to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The task was to ensure that members are fully inducted into the forum to carry out their duties as representatives of their constituencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had in-depth discussions throughout the sessions, ranging from unfair discrimination to the changes we are committed to bringing to the business through this forum. As such, we can assure you that you voted for the right individuals to best represent you in the forum.<\/p>\n
