Career day talks

Former President Nelson Mandela had a clear vision that education unlocks the youth’s potential, creating pathways to meaningful employment and building a stronger nation through empowered, skilled young people.

The Group Finance Pretoria team hosted a career day at Isaacs Morrison High School to equip learners with valuable insights into school subject selection and how to carve out a future career path.

They addressed Grade 9 learners on the importance of subject selection for Grade 10, while Grade 11 learners, who have the opportunity to adjust their subject choices in Term 3, were given more insight into the importance of their Term 2 and Term 4 results for university applications and bridging course opportunities.

The team shared information with the Grade 12 learners on bursary opportunities within AfroCentric for medical studies and other career options aligned with their subject choices and results.

The speakers also addressed important social issues, including bullying, the misuse and impact of social media, and the importance of resisting peer pressure.
