Dr Mari Gildenhuys

Clinical Risk Specialist, Medscheme

Mari is a qualified medical doctor who graduated from Stellenbosch University. She has experience in paediatrics and haematology, oncology and bone marrow transplants. Before joining the Clinical Risk Specialist team, Mari worked as the medical advisor in oncology in the Health Policy Unit. 

How does she inspire her colleagues? 

Mari is always willing to go the extra mile to help and tries to find solutions to the many challenges in our environment.

What are some of her special achievements that are worth celebrating? 

Mari has developed strong relationships with several of our medical scheme clients and, even though she is new to the team, is a respected and trusted advisor to Polmed. Mari also supports relationships between Medscheme and the external healthcare community, for example in oncology and palliative care.

What does she do outside of her working life?

Mari’s life beyond work revolves around cherishing moments with her delightful four-year-old daughter and husband. In addition to that, she has a deep-rooted love of reading and enjoys embarking on explorations around the captivating city of Cape Town.
